summer suppers

This summer, several members of Trinity are graciously hosting a "Summer Supper" in their homes - a casual yet intentional time and space for us to connect to one another over dinner together! This is a wonderful opportunity for those who are both old or new at Trinity to get to know others at our church on a more personal level than just a Sunday "Hello."  EVERYONE is invited and encouraged to sign up for a dinner!  Please be advised that space is limited. RSVP is required and will close one week before the date of dinner, so be sure to SIGN UP early!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

The story of Jonah is one of the most loved in all the Bible. A running and rebellious prophet, a storm on the high seas, a giant fish; it's got all the marks of an amazing tale. And the most surprising thing is Jesus compared himself with Jonah, the worst prophet in the Bible. How is that possible? Come and see. All kids (K-5th) are invited to VBS from Aug.5-9, 9am-12pm. Join us as we look at the story of Jonah and how it shows us Jesus. SIGN UP HERE!

men’s summer book study

Join us for breakfast and a discussion of the book Reset: Living a Grace-Paced Life in a Burnout Culture, July 20th and August 3rd at the home of Tim Arnold in Villa Park (address will be sent in confirmation email). Reading the book is recommended but not required, as Tim and Michael Steffen will highlight key points in an interactive workshop. Sign up here.

summer sabbath retreat

Life is busy. Our schedules are packed. We are always going. We’ve forgotten what it means to “be still and know that He is God” (and we are not). Summer offers us the perfect opportunity to slow down for sabbath rest. This summer we are encouraging everyone to schedule a “summer sabbath” - a whole day, or a partial day, set aside for prayer, silence, slowing down and listening to God. There are two options:

1) Join me for a silent prayer retreat at the San Luis Rey Mission retreat center in Oceanside, 9am-4pm, $35, lunch and private room included on Mon, July 15 or Fri, August 16. OR

2) Schedule a DIY retreat at the location and time of your choosing. Email me (Pastor Eric K.) to join me on one of my sabbath days or to get my how-to guide on taking an all-day sabbath retreat.

Make time to read! Here are some recommendations for your summer reading list from Pastor Eric K.
